The large tub was the first item to go. This provided both the opportunity for a wider shower and ample space for a toilet closet...that would necessitate moving the toilet to the opposite side of the room...and allowing for a very long double vanity with plenty of storage both above and below the counter. Relocating a toilet more than a foot or two can be a very formidable, if not cost-preventative, task but we were fortunate that a first-floor partition wall was situated very near the new toilet location...and allowed us to run a new waste line down a new wall rather than cutting up the floor framing to tie into the old location. With those infrastructure details behind us, finishing the space with nice neutral-colored tile, a large walk-in shower with frameless glass enclosures, and gorgeous cabinetry with a granite top topped of this master makeover.
Master Remodel - West End
A rather large, seldom used tub occupied a lot of floor space in this homeowner's master bathroom. A decently sized, but closed in, walk-in shower was also a large fixture in this space. The overall footprint of the room seemed fine, but the homeowner was convinced there was a better way to utilize the space.
