After High School in Llanedeyrn, Wales, Jamie attended three years at Barry Technical College (also in Wales) studying carpentry. He then enlisted in the British Army and served as an infantry soldier in London. After marrying his wife, Babs, in the U.S. in 1997, he went on to serve, through the British Army, with the United Nations in Cyprus and with his Welsh Regiment in Germany, Bosnia and Northern Ireland. During this time he and his wife had a son, Ieuan, who was born in Germany and is now 7 years old.
After leaving the Army, he and his family moved from Germany back to his home town of Cardiff, where he continued his carpentry career for 2 more years. The Phillips moved to the U.S. from Wales in 2002 and presently live in Bon Air in Chesterfield County.
When he doesn't have a hammer in his hand, Jamie enjoys playing with his son, fishing, watching Ultimate Fighting and playing on the Playstation. If you want to hear some good stories, ask Jamie what it was like to drive a Warrior tank in Bosnia or to stand guard in front of Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle.
