Using the majority of the front plane of the house, and even contemplating a wrap-around off one corner, a nice, long, brick-founded front porch was constructed. Round Tuscan-style columns, wide steps, and a gorgeous slate floor created not only the space for watching their playing children, but also created a place for passer-byers to stop and gaze and the transformation of the front facade from stoop to stupendous!
Friendly Front Porch - Short Pump
The lively neighborhood filled with children playing in front yards was awesome...provided you could see your children playing!. The small entry stoop provided no means for participating in neighborly activities. A nice, large "friendly" front porch was most certainly in order.
