With the rear of house facing due south and few mature trees within sight, the baked in the sun most of the day and were eaten by mosquitoes at night. Relief from both sun and bugs was of high priority for this project.
Using the footprint and infrastructure of the existing deck, a simple shed roof was installed with the ScreenTight screening system. To dress up the look a bit, nice black iron balusters from Deckorators were installed. The rather straightforward project provided just the right lift of features to the rear pool deck area of the home.

Install solid screening on top of existing decking and recover w/ new 5/4 SYP pressure-treated deck boards.

Demo all existing decking, install solid screening, and re-install SYP pressure-treated deck boards. Include tie in to existing house w/ gabled roof with asphalt shingles. Install 6X6 box columns w/ ScreenTight screen system. Install bead board ceiling having 2 recessed can lights and a center ceiling fan.
