By changing the configuration of the kitchen and dining area, this remodel was able to create a much larger, open space. A long, functional island with an upper ledge with seating was incorporated into the kitchen as the focal point. Under cabinet lighting was installed throughout and two areas were established for flat-screen monitors for cable TV and Internet access.
