Possessing the original knotty-pine kitchen from the 1960's, the customer's knew they were well overdue for a facelift. As was typical in homes in thier neighborhood, the kitchens were rather undersized compared to modern standards. In an effort to overcome this, the wall separating the kitchen and dining room was removed in lieu of a peninsula. This provided a more open, modern feel and was far better suited for entertaining and family gatherings. Taking advantage of the natural disruption of remodeling, the flooring was replaced in most every other part of the house with a combination of carpeting, laminates, and exposing and refinishing original hardwood floors.
