One more sleeping area was the goal this customer had in mind. Already possessing a large walk-up attic with tons of storage, this area became the logical area for a high school boy to rest his head. The attic space was split into two halves separated by a central chimney. It was clear that the sole stairway would not support both rooms or needs. As such, a second stairway on the adjacent side of the chimney was created to allow separate access to bedroom and unconditioned storage. A new window was installed in the future bedroom to allow for natural light, emergency egress, and building materials to be boomed into the space to provide minimal disruption to the rest of the house. The room was finished off with a nice neutral Frieze carpet accented with a burnt orange color scheme for the aspiring Texas Longhorn.
