Screened Porch - Short Pump

Project Objective:

Already a nice size deck....for baking in the afternoon sun and getting eaten by mosquitoes!  An uncovered deck in the central Virginia summer can often be more of a curse than a blessing.   A screened room, however, extends the usability of such a space from maybe three months to upwards of nine or even ten.  Often overlooked when contemplating screened spaces is the need for a convenient place for outdoor grilling.  That must also be addressed.

Wraparound Porch - West End

Project Objective:

Protection from mosquitoes!!  Nearly twenty nears after initial construction, the only ones getting enjoyment out of the existing 10 x 14 deck were a virtual civilization of mosquitoes.  The homeowners simply desired the ability to take back their yard to those who make the monthly payments on the place to begin with!

Screened Porch - 3 - Glen Allen

Project Objective:

The relatively small 10 x 16 existing deck provided little elbow room for modern outdoor entertaining.  The couple was seeking a larger space that could accommodate both outdoor eating and casual entertaining.

Roof Addition - Glen Allen

Project Objective:

Full sun was an understatement of the main driver behind this project. With the rear of house facing directly south and no mature trees within 75 feet, the customer literally baked on their deck from about 9am - 7pm for the main outdoor months of the year. Relief from both sun and bugs was of high priority for this project.

Porch w Fireplace - West End

Project Objective:

Not only did the homeowner desire to spend more time outdoors without the company of mosquitoes, they also wanted to extend the duration that the outdoor space was able to be used.  Some sort of a heating mechism would definitely be in order.

Screened Enclosure - Tuckahoe

Project Objective:

Screened Room - Glen Allen

Project Objective:

A nice size deck....for nice size bugs! An uncovered deck in the central Virginia summer can be quite ....well....useless. A screened room extends the usability of such a space from maybe three months to upwards of nine or even ten.

Multi-use Porch - Short Pump

Project Objective:

With the walk-out nature of this space, the goal was to create space that could be used in the buggy climates, but not introduce building material / railing that would both obstruct the view into the backyard and prevent ease of access into the yard itself.

Angled Porch - West End

Project Objective:

An oversized screened porch by most standards, this structure was actually built with the intent of future enclosure.
