The homeowners and their guests preferred to use the garage door to enter the home rather than walking a significantly longer distance to the front door. However, the entrance from the garage door led visitors right into the already crowded back side of the island, causing a complete traffic jam in the kitchen!
The solution was to repurpose the existing dining room into a multi-purpose extension of the kitchen, containing cubbies, a work space, and a wet bar. The door from the garage was moved into this space to allow visitors to enter out of the way of food preparation. The formal front living room was then repurposed into a new formal dining room. This allowed the pantry closet to be recessed into the garage, near the old garage entry door. The additional space in the kitchen made room for the crowning jewel — a long 8’ island with beefy legs and contrasting black cabinets — that created the perfect focal point for the kitchen.

As rookies to the renovation process, we were more than satisfied with Deep Run Renovations during our major kitchen remodel. Gary and his staff worked closely with our family to ensure a pleasant working environment. Gary did a great job with the design of the kitchen as well as keeping us within our budget throughout the entire process. His knowledge of the industry and his many contacts were extremely helpful while working through unexpected issues. Jamie, Casey, and the rest of the crew became family to us and all four of our children asked for them by name (over and over again!). Their workmanship was stellar. We could not be more pleased with the final product and continue to receive amazing comments about our kitchen. Thanks Deep Run Renovations!
